Lydia (“Jamie”) Shorthill is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) that has over 18 years of experience. She enjoys working with individuals, adolescents and families as well as the military populations in San Diego. She has served as Program Manager at an Adolescent Residential Treatment Center with the goal of resolving emotional discomfort and promoting healthy attachment. She has also managed School Based Therapeutic Programs, and has been employed by Adult Crisis Houses and Hospital settings. Jamie continues to provide Clinical Supervision for SAY San Diego, an agency that serve adults and adolescents in the greater San Diego area.

Jamie has extensive experience in helping her clients make positive changes in their lives by using the therapeutic technique best suited for each client. Through extensive training and experiences, she has developed specialties in the area of trauma, grief, anxiety and depression. Jamie incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as tools to encourage emotional regulation to help each person reach their goals.

With each client, Jamie strives to help each person come to a better place of understanding, fulfillment and peace. She will help on your journey to understand and conquer challenging behaviors, overcome trauma, regulate mood difficulties, and manage stress or grief in a safe and loving environment.
